CAPRA provides quality assurance and quality improvement of accredited park and recreation agencies throughout the United States. CAPRA is the only national accreditation of park and recreation agencies, and is a valuable measure of an agency’s overall quality of operation, management, and service to the community.

Foothills SK8 Court - Beginning Nov. 12, the Foothills SK8 Court will be closed to enable the fencing to be repainted. It’s estimated to reopen Nov. 17.
Murphy Park - Beginning inJune, sections of the grass will receive improved horticultural practices, including increased aeration, fertilization, soil testing and amendments to improve soil condition and better turf growth. The areas affected will be the east and south sections of turf and during this process, those areas will be roped off to allow a rest period from event impact. This project is expected to conclude around the end of September, at which point, staff expects to see a noticeable difference in the park’s overall aesthetic.
Sports Organizations in Neighborhood Parks
Many of Glendale's 55 neighborhood parks have become destination points for youth and adult sports organizations. These parks are generally not designed for such use. Read more...
The city has 1 year-round aquatic facility at the Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center, the Rose Lane Aquatics Center available during the summer and a summer splash pad. Group and private swim lessons, recreational swimming, family days, pool rentals and water exercise classes available.

The city has 13 fields available for reservation for a variety of sports activities.
